Indexed Publications

Publication transmits the results of research or other professional work that responds to a very specific issue, which can be clinical, diagnostic, educational or of another nature. Published information circulates easily and, in comparison to presentations at congresses, is more permanent, and reaches a larger audience. Information contained in scientific articles is presented and articulated according to commonly accepted rules (the IMRAD structure: Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion and conclusion.) These articles are submitted to scientific journals with committees who evaluate them following the “peer-reviewing” system whereby at least two peers read and correct anonymous manuscripts. Each scientific journal has its own audience, selection criteria, and editorial style, but they generally allow published articles to be indexed in the main biomedical databases.
